A volunteer youth worker from Old Trafford has ventured into the world of beauty by starting a small mobile nail business.
Lucy Bannister, 24, very kindly came along to the Old Trafford News office to chat to the team about her new venture. Whilst she was here, she gave Elaine from the St. Johns Centre a full shellac manicure.
Lucy moved from Scotland to Old Trafford initially for her job, as she is a fully qualified youth worker. Whilst here, she has made many friends in the community and has decided to stay. She said: “I love living in Old Trafford as it is so diverse. It is a brilliant community. I don’t see the point in moving.”
The kind hearted youth worker also uses her skills as a way to integrate with the young ladies she meets at her voluntary position.
Lucy is now working on a voluntary basis at St. Brides Youth Group. It was this that prompted her to start a small business of her own.
Lucy works from Elite Hair on Seymour Grove and also does mobile. She offers discounts for group bookings, such as hen parties or girlie nights in.
Shellac involves using a new type of polish which strengthens the nail. It is different from your average polish and resists chips. It can also last for up to two weeks.
